Former crew member to sing anthem at Rockingham Race (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
Stock car racing pit crew veteran Mike Powell will sing the National Anthem leading up to Saturday’s Hooter’s Pro Cup Series race at Rockingham Speedway. Powell was a crew member of Terry Labonte’s 1996 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship team. He was also part of Darrell Waltrip’s crew that won the 1989 Unocal Pit Crew Competition at the one-mile Rockingham Speedway near Rockingham, N.C.
